| The Paul A Gross Conference Center is a
state-of-the-art conference and meeting center. It serves
as a meeting site for the MCV
Alumni Association and members of the VCU faculty,
staff, and Biotech Park residents. The Conference Center,
which is part of the Alumni House, was dedicated and
opened in August of 1998. It is located right next door
(to the east) to the Department's Grant House. (A web
site for the Center is currently under construction by
the MCV Alumni Association.) Paul Gross is a close colleague of the faculty and a distinguished alumnus of the MHA graduate program (class of 1964). Prior to his retirement in 1992, Paul served as President of Humana Hospital, Inc.(which, at that time, was the second largest for-profit hospital company in the United States). Paul has worked very closely with the faculty over the years. Significantly, he became the first Professor and Executive-in-Residence in the Department, a position that was created (with Paul's guidance) in 1992. While serving in the Department, Paul contributed to the teaching programs in many ways and, perhaps most importantly, served as a highly valued advisor for students and residents of the MHA Program. Paul retired from his position with the University in 1995. |
