Bio
Dr. Clement is a professor in the Department of Health Administration. Dr. Clement, who specializes in health care financial management, has been on the faculties of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and University of Texas-Austin. Dr. Clement has published many articles about the financial performance of hospital firms, strategic alliances and subsidiaries of larger firms. She has also studied not-for-profit firms extensively, including studying the returns provided by not-for-profit acute care hospitals to communities, financial management tools for not-for-profit firms, and provision of charity care in the face of market competition. Recently, Dr. Clement has completed studies concerning variation in hospital quality by payer.
