Programs

There are four types of educational programs that are offered by the Williamson Institute:

  1. Fellowship Programs – These are on-going educational programs offered to develop specialization in one or more topics facing the leadership in the healthcare industry such as the Executive Fellowship in Patient Safety, the Fellowship in Information Technology and Healthcare Transformation, and the Executive Fellowship in Health Law. The Fellowship programs generally run for  8-12 month and individuals completing the programs successfully are awarded an attractive ’Fellowship Recognition Certificate’.
  1. Sponsored Programs – These programs are offered to sponsoring organizations to meet the needs of their employees for management and leadership development. These programs are developed by the faculty of the Williamson Institute in collaboration with the representatives of the sponsoring organization to tailor the program. Sponsored programs such as the Physician Leadership Program are not available for open enrollment and are limited to employees of the sponsoring organization. These programs are of variable duration and may typically contain five to ten learning modules over several weeks or months. Individuals who successfully complete the program will receive a Certificate of Participation offered jointly by the Williamson Institute and the sponsoring organization.
  1. Short-term Courses  – These programs are offered by the individual faculty members or collaborative faculty teams of the Williamson Institute to target a particular topical area such as ‘Six-Sigma training, IT project Management, EMR and Healthcare Transformation, Team Building and Work-group Performance, etc. These Short-term courses may last from one day sessions to several sessions spread over weeks or months.
  1. Faculty Forum – These are on-line educational Forums designed and lead by individual faculty members or collaborative teams with a team leader. This format allows individuals to participate in a learning process anonymously in a team structure where the faculty role is to be a facilitator of an organized learning module and the learning process is interactive among the Forum participants and faculty.  This structure also allows the Williamson Institute the capability of involving national and international leaders on a particular topic to participate as a faculty to lead the discussion using a Virtual Classroom® feature by Blackboard.
