Executive Fellowship in Health Law
Format
The first Health Law Fellowship was offered in 2007. It was an intensive, distance-learning program which began with a 3-day on-campus session at the University of Richmond Law School. During the on-campus sessions fellows were introduced to a variety of contemporary health law issues and learned legal research using Lexis-Nexus and the VCU Internet library. This was followed by on-line modules with interactive case presentations by renowned faculty. Fellows learned how to brief cases and analyze how law is interpreted and used by courts. The Fellowship program was taught by a combination of hospital attorneys, law school faculty, practicing professionals many of whom were alumni/ae of the JD/MHA dual degree program of VCU and University of Richmond Law School.
The Williamson Institute is planning a second Health Law Fellowship beginning in March 2009. We need a minimum of 20 fellows enrolled. For more information and to show interest please fill out our application.
