Bio
Patricia Edinboro, PhD is an assistant Professor in the Department of Health Administration. She currently serves as assistant Director of Graduate Programs – MHA and Professional MSHA – Online. Dr. Edinboro completed a two year National Cancer Institute postdoctoral fellowship at Massey Cancer center Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008 where she furthered her research in health disparities and access and delivery of preventive care. Dr. Edinboro’s background includes employment in public and not for profit health care organizations. Prior to the completion of her doctoral degree she worked as a research associate at Massey Cancer Center and clinical trial director at the Richmond Affiliate American Cancer Society and has worked in public health nutrition in Virginia.
Dr. Edinboro currently teaches HADM 609: Managerial Epidemiology. Previous teaching responsibility included HADM 705 Advanced Health Organization Theory in the HAD Doctoral program. Dr. Edinboro has investigated areas of CHD preventive care, cancer prevention, patient provider communication, health literacy, and the impact of area level factors on access and delivery of preventive care. Her specific interest has centered on the socioeconomic determinants of health and health disparities in populations.
