Donald “Don” S. Good, LFACHE
MHA Class of 1964
2007 Recipient of the ACHE Lifetime Achievement Award

Mr. Good has led a distinguished forty year career as a healthcare executive and is unquestionably a worthy recipient of the ACHE Lifetime Achievement Award.  Upon graduating from Ohio State University in 1958, Mr. Good began his career with Arthur Anderson as an accountant.  He soon moved into the healthcare sector, working at Lincoln Air Force Base as Chief of Patient Affairs.  After attending the Medical College of Virginia, Mr. Good completed his residency at Maxwell Air Force Base.  He progressed through Air Force healthcare system, holding various administrative positions of increasing responsibility in England and Greece, as well as with the Office of the Surgeon General USAF and Air Force Systems Command.

After serving as Chief of the Medical Service Corps with the Office of the Surgeon General USAF, Mr. Good returned to the world of academia, this time as a professor.  His extensive experience made him amply qualified to serve on the faculty of George Washington University in the Department of Health Service Management and Policy.  While at George Washington, Mr. Good also served as the Director of Administrative Residencies and as the Associate Director of the Interagency Institute for Federal Healthcare Executive before his retirement in 2003.

Throughout his career, Mr. Good has maintained professional affiliations with many organizations.  He has served on the board of the Nursing Home Administration for Washington, D.C., and the Governing Council and Regional Advisory Board of the American Hospital Association, of which he is also a Lifetime Member. 

Within the American College of Healthcare Executives, Mr. Good has served on the Board of Governors, the Task Force on Governance and Constituencies, Regent-at Large, the Nominating Committee, and the Counselors Committee.  He remains active in his local Great Lakes chapter and is also a Life Fellow. 
Mr. Good is a shining example of the success of the alumni/ae of the MHA Program and sets the bar for future graduates of the Program.  Please join the Department of Health Administration in congratulating Mr. Good on his achievements and on becoming a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
