Danny L. Jones, CHE (MHA ’94)

Danny “Dan” L. Jones, Jr, FACHE is the CEO of Independence Regional Health Center, a 363-bed Level II Trauma Center, and Medical Center of Independence, an 185-bed medical center. When Mr. Jones began this role in March of 2004, he accepted the responsibility of building a new Independence hospital that will replace the two existing facilities. The $250 Million dollar project is planned to open in 2007 as a new 257 bed regional referral center and will be the largest greenfield project in the State of Missouri’s history and one of the largest construction projects in HCA.

Prior to this role, Mr. Jones was COO of CJW Medical Center (CJW), a 750-bed hospital and trauma center in Richmond, VA. During his role at CJW, a $65 million expansion, including a heart hospital expansion, was completed.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Jones was COO of Memorial Medical Center, a 550-bed facility in New Orleans, LA, COO of JoEllen Smith Medical Center, a 200-bed facility in New Orleans, LA and Regional Director Operations / Director of Acquisitions of Tenet Physician Services in New Orleans, LA. He served as Assistant Administrator of St. Charles General Hospital, a 150-bed facility in New Orleans, LA. Mr. Jones received his Master of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1994 and performed his administrative residency at National Medical Enterprises in New Orleans, LA. He received his Bachelors of Art in Business and Economics from Randolph-Macon College.
Dan and his wife Leslie, son Grayson, aged four and daughter Mackenzie, aged 2 live in Leawood, Kansas.
