Steven "Steve" D. Gravely, BA,
(MHA'80), JD

In his legal practice, Mr. Gravely specializes in Health Care, Intellectual Property, Governmental Law, and Special Investigations. While in law school, he spent one summer in the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and another in the Office of the Attorney General, both of the Commonwealth of Virginia. After graduation, he served as a law clerk for the Virginia Supreme Court. He went on to become a partner at Seawell, Dalton, Hughes & Timms and then at McCandlish Kaine. Currently, Mr. Gravely is a partner with Troutman Sanders LLP, where he has been since 2000.

Mr. Gravely serves in the Health Law sections of the American Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar, and the Virginia Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Health Care Compliance Association, the Health Care Financial Management Association, the American Public Health Association, and the Central Virginia Health Care Executive Group.

In 2003, Steve Gravely was named to Virginia’s Legal Elite in Health Care.
